It’s awesome. Suck it, haters!

Yes, there are way too many rustic glamour photos of Goop in front of mounds of produce. Yes, the health claims in it (especially those relating to gluten intolerance) may be overstated. But if you’re a person with no actual food sensitivities looking for healthy recipes that are not especially complicated and always strive for decent levels of umami and acidity (ie. me), I endorse this cookbook entirely.

Right now, I am making Thai Chicken Burgers and “Perfectly Cooked Quinoa”, aka. cooked quinoa, while my lamb cubes marinade for tomorrow’s tagine and strawberry-banana yogurt pops freeze in the freezer. The last one is not a Goop recipe but the idea to sweeten the frozen pops with dates was. Brill!

I and my tub of white miso look forward to cooking more pseudo-macrobiotic, vegan-ish, gluten-free sometimes recipes from this book.

Pizza Making

Pizza Making:
A vine of me making pizza for Michael.

Nikki's Healthy Cooking

Nikki's Healthy Cooking:
…for hippies and uptight moms. With Pete in Houston, I’m eating for one tonight out of the one pot that made a one-pot meal.

1. Fry 2 slices of bacon in a ceramic pot until browned.

2. Add a small diced onion and fry until translucent.

3. Add sliced mushrooms and zucchini and fry ‘till soft.

4. Add 2tbs Korean chili powder (Gochugaru) and 4 crushed cloves of garlic. Stir for a minute.

5. Add a glob of chopped up kimchi

6. Add chicken stock until covered and bring to a boil

7. Add 2 tbs of red miso. You’re not supposed to boil miso because you kill the microbes or something, but oh well.

8. Add very soft tofu, the kind that comes in a tube. Boil for a while.

9. When everything looks pretty cooked, add a bunch of fish sauce to your taste and chuck an egg into the middle. I like the break up the egg a bit.

10. Remove from heat and add sliced green onions. Enjoy!

Pie Dough Recipe @wellpreserved

Pie Dough Recipe @wellpreserved:
I knew about the butter needing to be cold, but FREEZING the butter and grating it?
P.S. To the commenter who was like, “What can substitute for the wine? I want to feed it to my little ones and no wine for them!” I just want to say…

Look, asshole parent: your precious children are not going to get drunk off of a 1/2 cup of white wine drizzled into a blender of cheese.
